#scream4 So what actually happened? Not much! The funniest thing was how quiet it was. There were no sirens despite the flashing police vehicle lights. The trailer and its entourage simply drove up Center St. in Northville from the Downs to 8 mile Road, parked for a while in the local Elementary School parking lot, turned around and did it again. I counted 3 or 4 times but maybe it was more. A few people watched in the downtown area, but the streets get pretty quiet after 9pm on a weeknight. There were some roads closed so that you couldn’t accidentally drive out into the path of the vehicle, a few Security Guards here and there, and the Northville Police flanking the crew. Apart from that it was oddly quiet!
As usual filming broke for ‘lunch’ at around 11:30 pm and this was when David Arquette twittered about the filming and his birthday (http://twitpic.com/2mm1j4 and http://twitpic.com/2mm1pe).
It was almost chance (plus a helpful tip from a friend) that helped me be at the right place at the right time. It would have been really annoying to have gone to see the movie, seen the scene and wondered when the heck they had managed to film it without us knowing. Maybe the coolest part was having them in the parking lot of the school—just wish my camera was up to taking the good pics instead of the grainy, dark, blurry ones! But I guess a movie like Scream 4 isn’t going to be doing much filming in daylight.
